Embezzlement is the act of wrongfully diverting money, goods or property that does not belong to you for personal profit. Acts of embezzlement can range from an employee stealing money from his/her company to a caregiver taking money from an elderly individual.

In Nevada, common embezzlement crimes typically involve casino employees taking money and convert it as their own and bank employees stealing money or defrauding the bank for personal gain. These criminal offenses tend to accompany charges such as bribery, fraud, corruption and tax crimes. To convict someone of embezzlement, proof must be given that the defendant intended to steal or deprive the rightful owner of his/her money or property.
