Out of State DUI Attorney in Las Vegas
Thousands of Cases Handled by Our Firm
As a renowned party destination, Las Vegas sees its fair share of DUI charges. According to The Las Vegas Visitor Profile Study conducted by GLS Research (2016), 81% of all visitors to Las Vegas are out of state. This means that many DUI charges are pressed against out-of-state visitors as well.
At the Law Office of David R. Fischer, we have represented many out of state clients facing DUI charges. We aim to keep these criminal charges off your record and prevent charges from affecting your driving privileges in your home state. Over the years, we have handled thousands of cases and provided award-winning defense to our clients.

Do I have to Come Back to Las Vegas for a Court Date?
In most cases, you will not have to return to Las Vegas for your court date if your attorney is representing you and will appear in the courtroom on your behalf. This only applies to misdemeanor DUI charges. If you are charged with a felony DUI, you will have to be more involved. Speak with an attorney to learn more about the specifics of your circumstances.
An attorney can accomplish the following on your behalf:
- Make court appearances
- Conduct the Nevada DMV hearing
- Collect evidence
- Craft a strong defense
- Run motions before the judge
- Negotiate your case with the prosecution
If you do not have an attorney, you will have to show up for the court date and you will have a much more difficult time getting your charges reduced, not to mention dismissed.
How Does an Out-of-State DUI Affect Driving in My Home State?
Nevada is unable to touch your driving privileges in your home state; however, your driving privileges may be suspended in Nevada. Your charges and whatever local suspensions are set will be reported to your home state’s DMV. Your home state’s DMV will have the authority to take action in response to your charges. For example, if your license is suspended in Nevada, your home state’s DMV will likely suspend your license there as well.
